The rise and fall of Islam in the last days

Even though the words “Moslem” and “Islam” are not mentioned in the Bible, these two Satanic, yet important terms, must be understood by the Bible student if one desires to have a correct interpretation of the End Times.  Just as the word “Rapture” is not mentioned, one can easily see this concept in Revelation 4:1.  Likewise, as one studies the Scripture and the geographical lands in which are mentioned, one will discover that the very lands that God states in His Word that will rise up against Israel in the last days, are indeed the present day lands which are largely Islamic in nature today.  What then, should the student of God’s Word know and recognize about this false religion known as Islam, and its followers, the Muslims?  A manageable way to grasp this topic is to look at Islam from 3 viewpoints:  (1)Islam’s past; (2)Islam’s present; and (3)Islam’s future.  By understanding the foundation, its core beliefs, and its god, one can then more clearly see the system at work in present day society and have a better understanding of its future path.  When God’s people aligns these facts then with Scripture, very easily one can see the ultimate end of such an heretical false religion.

The Past of Islam can be traced all the way back to its founder- Satan.  In his dominion strategy to rule the world, Satan attempted the first world religion and government at Babel about 4,500 years ago.  Because God would intervene and defeat this attempt, Satan would then have to develop yet another strategy in attempt to gain power.  Satan’s “mother/son” cult would be uprooted and eventually settle in Rome where it exists to this day; however, another deadly false religion founded by demonic beings would be that of Islam.  This “religion” would not be founded by Mohammed, but rather have its beginnings almost 1,500 years prior to him coming on the scene, during the time of Ishmael.  Arabia, the land to which Ishmael and his seed would populate, was full of tribal type people.  These people were violent fighters and would battle brother against brother.  A brother who could overthrow another brother and take his tribe was said to be a “Great Islamic Fighter”.  The term “Islam” means that of submission, as was the result of one brother violently taking over another until the weaker submitted his will and people to the stronger.  These tribes were very violent and occultic, and housed over 360 gods at the “kaa’ba”.  Mohammed, the proclaimed “prophet” of Islam, was born in 570AD.  His father was the Sheriff of the kaa’ba and was given the responsibility of protecting it.    Mohammed would later clean out all the gods from this place except “Allah”, the moon god.  In July of 610 A.D., Mohammed would set up this god in a religion and call it “Islam”.    This religion would spread quickly by the sword all across the globe and continues to do so until this very day.

With the background of Islam’s past, it is easy to see the further developments at the present.  To date, there are approximately 58 moslem states.  All of these states have one satanic goal in common:  to destroy Israel and the Jewish people.  The “koran”, the holy book of Islam, proclaims the death and destruction of the infidels:  “seize them and slay them wherever  you find them:  and in any case take no friends or helpers from their ranks” (Sura 4:89, Koran).²  Further admonition is given to the followers to avoid non believers of Islam:  “O you who believe!  Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors:  they are but friends and protectors to each other.  And he among you that turns to them for friendship is of them” (Sura 5:51, Koran).  Ultimately, the Koran calls for the total annihilation and death of the infidels:  “Slay the idolators wherever ye find them, and take them captive, and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush.  Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the last Day…Go forth, light-armed, and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah!” (Sura 9:5,29,41, Koran)  The people of Islam today are taught that only Muslims know the way and all others are infidels and must be killed.  With indoctrination this evil and deep, it is easy to see how Satan has been able to amass such numbers in his ranks.  Were it not for God’s Word and the infallible truths of Bible Prophecy, it might well appear that Satan is gaining ground for a future mutiny of civilization and authority.

So what is the role of Islam in the End Times events?  More importantly, what is the end that awaits for the Islamic nations?  It is clear through a quick review of the past and present of Islam that it indeed is a growing force of evil that continues to multiply- to some extent even daily, as new converts are brought into its evil grasp throughout the world.  Islam has been used, and will continue to be used, throughout the world by Satan to fight against Israel and the Jewish people.  Unrest will continue throughout the Middle East as “wars and rumors of wars” increase ever the more as the time of the end approaches.  It will seem as if Israel has reached her demise in the jaws of her enemies, yet God will intervene through key events that will ultimately and completely wipe the Islamic world out of existence.  The irony of such events will be in the person and course of action God will take to help complete His purpose- The Antichrist.

The book of Daniel speaks of a time in which Antichrist will promise peace to the Jewish people.  It is during this time, a Satanic Antichrist will be used to destroy a Satanic False Religion.  Ezekiel records that this time will be a period of time when they dwell safely in the land, with “unwalled” villages (Ezekiel 38:8, 11, KJV).  The only time recorded in future events where Israel will dwell safely is during the first half of the Tribulation period.  Scripture records that “at the time of the end shall the king of the south (Egypt) push at him; and the king of the north (Syria) shall come against him like a whirlwind…” (Daniel 11:40, KJV).  Antichrist, in an attempt to uphold the “peace treaty” which he has confirmed, will fight back against these Islamic countries attempting to wipe out Israel.  Early during this first half of the Tribulation period, Egypt and Syria will be destroyed.  Egypt, with a population of 88 million people and growing; Syria, the 5th greatest military power in the world, will come to an abrupt end and their existence will be no more.  Ezekiel 39 further prophesies that 5 out of every 6 of the remaining Islamic nations will be destroyed in battle as well.  Syria, Egypt, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Libya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia- all destroyed!  With the vast majority of the Islamic nations destroyed, Islam will become inoperative.  The demonic force that, for centuries, has sought to destroy Israel and her people will be brought to a fraction of its former existence.

There will remain at that time, two players left on the world stage awaiting judgment:  Babylon, and the Edomites.  Babylon will be destroyed in the last judgment before Christ returns.  Obadiah records that the Edomites (“Palestinians”) will make it to the end of the Tribulation, and then will be destroyed:  “and the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it” (Obadiah 18, KJV).  God, in His infinite knowledge and sovereignty, will bring an abrupt end to the enemies of His Word.  Nations will be destroyed to be remembered no more.  Islam, a force through the centuries that has been a murderer and blasphemous opponent of God’s people, will be no more.

The players are on the field.  The sides have been chosen.  There awaits but the rapture of God’s people and the revealing of the antichrist to culminate the final stages of these prophetic events.  God’s Word, in God’s way, in God’s time.  Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.
